What you can expect from MRL
If you have experience in a accounts or contracts and looking for a career change into the world of cost controlling, this role could be for you! This role will assist the ongoing development, design and implementation of the cost control system for CSI projects. You will also be required to assist with the preparation of contracting and procurement plans, tender documents and purchasing of materials to ensure the effective delivery of projects. This role will require an effective communicator who is both strategic and hands-on and can engage effectively with individuals and teams across a diverse organisation.
Based in our Applecross office, you will be responsible with liaising with other project team members to efficiently collect data, forecast costs and manage project risk throughout all phases of the project.
About the role
- Preparation of Cost Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), budgets, cost forecasts, Revenue forecasts, cash flows, project dashboards and other cost control documents.
- Establishment and signoff of the Project budget by all relevant personnel.
- Review project costs and recommend corrective action if significant deviations from budget occur. Report regularly to the project manager on budget and schedule achievements.
- Preparation of accurate weekly, monthly cost reports, month end processes and trend analysis in accordance with both in house and client reporting matrix.
- Identification and reporting of any major cost and revenue variances including the preparation of any associated documentation.
- Reporting of budgets, costs, forecasts and trends in accordance with Project procedures.
- Preparation of Project progress claims.
- Preparation of final close-out reports for Contracts and purchase orders.
- Compilation of the Project estimate for claims.
About you
- Previous experience in Accounts or contracts in a construction environment
- Advanced user of Microsoft suite of tools, such as Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Analytical skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement and relationship skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive and able to work autonomously.
