About the role

Due to continued growth into 2020, Mineral Resources have a new opportunity in our Project Services team for a Senior Geologist based in our Head Office in Applecross (with a move to a new office in Subiaco in 2020). As a Senior Geologist, this high level technical role will be responsible for standardising the drill hole coding, geological domaining and interpretation of cross sections for multiple MRL deposits. Reporting to the Exploration Manager, you will also provide high level technical mentoring to the exploration and mine geologists within the MRL group.

With demonstrated experience in the Pilbara, your duties will include;

• Identification of different stratigraphy and geological domains in alignment with Pilbara Iron Ore Classifications
• Report writing for physical and chemical characteristics of different geological domains and material types
• Interpretation of geological cross-sections and creation of wire frame models
• Maintain and report on the quality of geological data collected across MRL projects
• Provide input data for resource estimation geologist
• Maintain and foster a working environment which prompts safety in all that we do, whilst also providing outstanding service

About You

• Tertiary level education in Geology
• At least 5 years experience in mining and exploration industry
• Pilbara specific Iron Ore experience
• Experience with Micromie/Surpac and Mapinfo/ArcGIS
• Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently
• Experience in geochemical interpretation, geological wire framing and drill hole planning
• Exploratory data analysis skills, resource estimation and block modelling experience desirable
