About the role

Our Iron Valley operation is seeking a Pit Technician to join the team on a 2:1 roster. This role will be FIFO from Perth.

Reporting to our Technical Services Superintendent, your primary responsibility will be to provide support to the on-site mining services team, whilst also working closely with our Geologists.

With a demonstrated background working in challenging and demanding work environments in the outdoors, you will have a highly developed safety focus, and not be afraid to roll up your sleeves to meet challenges head on.

About the role

• High level data entry skills and attention to detail.
• Blasthole/stockpile sampling, dispatch and validation.
• The ability to work independently and as a team.
• Material tracking.
• Ore mark-ups and spotting.
• The ability to work safely in Pilbara weather conditions.
• Maintain and foster a working environment which prompts safety in all that we do, whilst also providing outstanding service

About you

• Previous experience in a Pit Technician role, or a Graduate Geologist will be highly beneficial to this role
• Previous experience in an open pit mining environment desirable
• A keen desire to learn and “help pitch in to get the job done” attitude
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel and Outlook
• WA C Class drivers licence essential
