The Opportunity
The Mineral Resources New to Industry Apprenticeship Program is allows you to learn your trade whilst experiencing the mining industry through both workshop and site-based training.
We are excited to offer the below opportunities as part of 2027 Apprenticeship Program:
- Boilermaker - Mobile maintenance and fixed plant - prepare, assemble and repair both large and small metal pieces using welding and thermal cutting equipment
- Electrician – Fault find and repair electrical systems on our fixed plant crushers, conveyors and more
- Auto Electrician - Specialising in repairing, servicing and installing electrical systems on our mobile equipment such as trucks and light vehicles
- Mechanical Fitter - Maintain our fixed plant equipment such as crushers, conveyors and reclaimers)
- Fitter and Machinist - Manufacture, repair, and fit metal components for production machines and other equipment
- Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter Diagnose, repair and maintain our mobile plant such as diggers, loaders, trucks and more
Our New to Industry Apprenticeship Program candidates will spend the first two years at our metro-based workshops, before completing FIFO work across MinRes Operations in 3rd and 4th year. Candidates must be available to commence full time employment in January 2027.
What is required
- Completed, or be in the process of completing, Year 10
- Work experience and/or a pre-apprenticeship in your chosen trade will be highly regarded
- Pass a pre-employment medical examination and ongoing fitness for work assessments (including drug and alcohol testing)
- Hold a current C class driver’s licence (P plates will be accepted)
- To be passionate about a long-term career in mining and to be keen, willing and able to learn a variety of new skills related to your chosen trade
- Willingness to work on our remote mine sites as required
