Electrical Project Coordinator

Crushing Services International (CSI), a subsidiary of MRL, is a leading contract crushing provider tailoring world-class build-own-operate crushing, screening and processing plants for major mining clients. This includes designing and manufacturing of major mineral processing facilities, ensuring commissioning and providing on-site operation and maintenance support.
About the role
The primary challenge of this position is to assist in the development, design, procurement, construction and commissioning phases of each project and to meet both CSI and client expectations.
The Electrical Project Coordinator is responsible for the day to day assistance in the preparation of the design, procurement, schedule, budget, documentation and QA/QC of each project, reporting directly to the Project Manager - Electrical.
In this position you’ll:
- Review and plan projects with the Project Manager - Electrical to ensure technical aspects of each job are clear
- Development of work packs to ensure sub-contract suppliers and site installation scopes are well defined
- Provides a focal point for all technical and procurement based queries from the construction team, client or associated sub suppliers
- Liaise with both in-house and external designers as required for the successful completion of each project
- Ensures that the quality requirements of the project are adhered to and that company procedures are followed
- Manage procurement packages
- Managing and tracking project expenditure in relation to scope and budget for materials and labour
- Assist in Project document and drawing control
- Development of project MDR’s
- Assist in project reporting – both in house and client reports
- Delivers effective procurement in order to maintain site efficiency in a proactive manner
- Act as a first point of contact for site technical, procurement and schedule queries

Necessary skills and qualifications:
- Trade Qualified or Tertiary Qualification in Electrical Engineering
- A high level of Electrical QA/QC skills
- Minimum 10+ years’ experience in an electrical construction environment
- Minimum 5+ years supervisory or leadership experience within construction and/or maintenance
- Mining or other heavy industry related experience working on large construction projects
- Good knowledge of project timelines and sequencing
- Sound understanding of Australian standards
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft office suite
- Extra education in areas such as an advanced diploma in engineering desirable but not essential
