Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with operational leaders to strengthen safety leadership capability, risk management, work planning, and safety performance outcomes.

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Safety and Emergency Services team.

  • Contribute to the development and execution of operational strategies and improvement plans.

  • Monitor site safety performance, analyse the effectiveness of controls and operational processes, and interrogate audit and incident data to identify trends, address root causes, and drive improvements in safety maturity.

  • Provide expert technical guidance on safety risk management, safety programmes, and legislative compliance through coaching, training, and mentoring of staff.

  • Lead and actively participate in hazard identification, risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analyses to ensure that corrective and preventative actions are effective and enduring.

  • Monitor lead and lag indicators of safety performance, recommending and driving the implementation of improvements.

  • Coordinate operational emergency response team.

  • Facilitate site alcohol and other drug testing regime.

What you need to Succeed:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in Workplace, Health, and Safety or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

  • Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue – RII30719

  • Certificate IV in Health Care – HLT41120

  • Collect specimens for Drugs of Abuse Testing - HLTPAT005

  • Medium Rigid or Heavy Rigid Drivers Licence

  • Experience as a Safety/Emergency Services Superintendent or similar role, ideally within the mining, oil & gas, or heavy industry sectors.

  • Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive Health and Safety Management Systems.

  • In-depth knowledge of Western Australian regulatory requirements, legislative frameworks, and proven experience working with regulatory bodies on health and safety matters.
