Key Responsibilities:

Partner with operational leaders to strengthen safety leadership capability, risk management, work planning, and safety performance outcomes.

Lead, coach, and develop the Safety and Emergency Services team.

Contribute to the development and execution of operational strategies and improvement plans.

Monitor site safety performance, analyse the effectiveness of controls and operational processes, and interrogate audit and incident data to identify trends, address root causes, and drive improvements in safety maturity.

Provide expert technical guidance on safety risk management, safety programmes, and legislative compliance through coaching, training, and mentoring of staff.

Lead and actively participate in hazard identification, risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analyses to ensure that corrective and preventative actions are effective and enduring.

Monitor lead and lag indicators of safety performance, recommending and driving the implementation of improvements.

Coordinate operational emergency response team.

Facilitate site alcohol and other drug testing regime.
What you need to Succeed:
-
Minimum bachelor’s degree in Workplace, Health, and Safety or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue – RII30719
-
Certificate IV in Health Care – HLT41120
-
Collect specimens for Drugs of Abuse Testing - HLTPAT005
-
Medium Rigid or Heavy Rigid Drivers Licence
-
Experience as a Safety/Emergency Services Superintendent or similar role, ideally within the mining, oil & gas, or heavy industry sectors.

Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive Health and Safety Management Systems.

In-depth knowledge of Western Australian regulatory requirements, legislative frameworks, and proven experience working with regulatory bodies on health and safety matters.
