The Opportunity

Our Iron Valley Operation is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join the laboratory team based at our Pilbara mine site. This is a full-time position working an 8D 6RR 7N 7RR roster and reports directly to the Laboratory Supervisor.

As a Laboratory Technician you operate and maintain the site assay lab and will be responsible for the preparation and analysis of routine plant and pit samples.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Inspect the workplace to identify hazards and assist to implement effective controls
• Accurate and timely reporting of analytical results
• Perform QAQC checks and ensure results are within control limits
• Ensuring you follow MinRes Laboratory procedures & adhere to Health & Safety Standards 
• Contribute to daily PSI meetings
• Operate the Jaw Crusher, Boyd Crusher, Pulveriser, Dust Extractor, Sieve Shaker, and the Drying Ovens and other associated equipment in accordance with established procedures
• Experience with use of TGA, fusion and XRF equipment highly regarded
• Complete preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment
• Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in relation to procedures, systems and work-related activities and initiate improvement action via an entry in the Laboratory Improvement Request Register

Your Experience and Skills:

• Previous years working in similar position within a fast-paced geochemistry/minerals laboratory environment
• MSL40118 Certificate 1V Laboratory Technician (Highly desirable)
• Ability to work cohesively in close knit team environment
• A strong commitment to safety
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines
• Full Australian working rights
• Current WA C Class Drivers Licence
