The Opportunity

The Land Access Advisor will play an integral part assisting with the delivery of the land access requirements of the business. You will assess land tenure, navigate legislative requirements under the Mining Act and other related legislation, engage with landowners and stakeholders and ensure compliance with access agreements.

You will be based at our HQ office on Osborne Park, and you will have the ability with joining a great team culture and further develop your career pathway. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the negotiation of land access agreements with other mining tenement holders/applicants and pastoralists including conferring with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Maintaining an agreement register and monitor compliance with obligations.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in respect of land access and contractual arrangements. 
  • Assist with assessing upcoming scopes of work in our Land Activity Permits (LAP) approval process.
  • Provide ad hoc land access advice. 

Experience and skills required

  • ​​Demonstrated experience in a related corporate within the mining or resources industry
  • ​​Tertiary qualification in a related discipline such as law, commerce or equivalent​ 
  • ​​Knowledge of the WA Mining Act, Land Administration Act and related resources development legislation as it applies to the development and operation of mining projects in WA
  • ​Experience in drafting of agreements and/or contract management and legal 
  • ​Excellent attention to detail and ability to deliver results while working on multiple tasks with tight timeframes
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships and work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
