The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Plant Metallurgist to join our high‑performing teams across our Lithium and Iron Ore operations, working on an 8/6 roster from Perth.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role, supporting our plant expansion and contributing directly to the growth of MinRes’ Lithium and Iron Ore production. Your technical expertise will help optimise performance, improve recovery and maintain quality standards across operations, supporting a sustainable future in the global renewable energy industry.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee and support metallurgical processes and operations within the plant
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to maximise plant performance, efficiency, and recovery
- Monitor plant performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with operations teams to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Analyse and interpret metallurgical and production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Provide technical support and training to operations teams to enhance productivity and knowledge
- Manage metallurgical accounting, including daily, weekly, and monthly production reports
- Prepare operational manuals and assist in workforce training initiatives
- Oversee stockpile management to ensure concentrate haulage meets quality specifications and timing requirements
- Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and regulatory authorities as required
What is Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in mineral processing plant operations, ideally with lithium and Iron Ore processing exposure
- Strong knowledge of metallurgical principles, processes and plant optimisation techniques
- Experience with metallurgical accounting, sampling and mass balance calculations
- Excellent problem‑solving capabilities and ability to make sound decisions under operational pressures
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage across teams
