The Opportunity
Reporting to the Superintendent Metallurgy, you will provide technical leadership and operational support to improve plant performance, reduce processing costs, and drive continuous improvement.
This is a hands-on role where you will work closely with Processing, Maintenance, and other operational teams to ensure safety, production and quality targets are consistently met in line with MinRes values.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and optimise metallurgical performance of the processing plant, including crushing, grinding HPGR, gravity classification, DMS, and dewatering processes
- Provide relevant technical support to production teams across site
- Perform field safety interactions, hazard reporting, and critical risk management verifications. S26 Training desirable.
- Monitor and enhance plant performance through analysis of operational data
- Complete metallurgical accounting and report performance against forecasts and budgets
- Identify process improvement opportunities and carry out projects to optimise performance, reduce costs, and improve safety
- Supervise, support and mentor metallurgists and metallurgical technicians
What is Required:
- Tertiary qualification in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent
- Extensive experience in Metallurgy, having supported a team in a Senior position
- Experience with complex processing plant (gravity, dense medium separation, magnetic separation or flotation)
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities
- Previous experience within Lithium is highly regarded
