The Opportunity
Position Available: Workshop Supervisor
We have an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Workshop Supervisor to become a valued member of our team at the Onslow Iron, Upper Cane site. Reporting to the Workshop Superintendent, you’ll be responsible for overseeing road train maintenance, optimising the allocation of labour, and ensuring safe and efficient asset management. Your leadership will play a crucial part in maximising productivity, minimising downtime, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and cost-effectiveness.

This role is offered as a permanent, full-time position with an 8 days on, 6 days rest, 7 nights on, 7 days rest rotating roster.

Key Role Responsibilities:

• Uphold the highest standards of MinRes Safety & HSEQT procedures and requirements.
• Direct, schedule, and manage the daily workflow of workshop personnel.
• Support and motivate a multi-disciplinary team, including Heavy Diesel Mechanics, Auto Electricians, Boilermakers, and Trade Assistants.
• Organise, prioritise, and oversee maintenance and repairs for Kenworth C509 road trains.
• Perform rigorous quality checks on completed works.
• Foster a team culture that encourages excellence and continual improvement.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to reduce unplanned equipment failure.
• Liaise with other site departments to streamline fleet operations and drive optimal results.

What We’re Looking For:

• Demonstrated experience in a similar supervisory capacity, with strong leadership across multiple trades.
• Expertise in coordinating warehouse logistics and scheduling in a mining context.
• Holders of a recognised HD trade qualification in Australia.
• Possession of a current Schedule 26.
• Sound technical knowledge of Kenworth road trains, as well as diesel engines, hydraulics, and diagnostics.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in high-pressure settings.
• Familiarity with fleet maintenance management software will be well regarded.

Onslow Iron is one of the largest iron ore projects under development in Australia, set to unlock billions of tonnes of stranded deposits in the West Pilbara region. Underpinning the project is the innovative supply chain including modular crushers, a 150km private, dedicated haul road, and transhippers.
