Our ground-breaking Onslow Iron project, located at our Ashburton Hub, is a key part of our ambitious plans to substantially grow our iron ore footprint in the Pilbara. From a clean slate we’re building things from the ground up, providing a full pit-to-ship logistics solution with extraordinary infrastructure and first-of-its-kind innovation. This $2.4 billion project includes new port, stockyards, 150kms of the largest private road in WA, new dry process plant and two brand-new resort-style camps.
About the role
Reporting to the Workshop Superintendent, as the Workshop Supervisor you’ll play a key role in moving this project into its Delivery Phase - encompassing early development work, mine site development, bulk ore transportation system, port works and mine processing plant.
This is a hands on position that will be closely involved with all project phases, functions and personnel.
Your key responsibilities

Actively promote an incident and injury free culture;

Ensure practical compliance with state legislation;

Ensure all individuals adhere to isolation regulations in their activities on site;

Carry out regular behavioural observations;

Recognise and implement safety improvement opportunities;
-
Ensure a strong presence in the work place out of the office over seeing employees
-
Conduct formal daily workplace inspections with follow-up actions of any substandard conditions or practices identified;
-
Assist in the identification of the need for and preparation of JHAs and work procedures;
-
Ensure that all employees and subcontractors are competent to undertake the work assigned to them;

Attend daily prestart meetings to discuss issues including work procedures, JHA requirements, incidents, near misses, hazards identified, employee concerns and job progress. Minutes of meetings to be recorded and retained;

Ensuring all employees are informed of hazards in their work areas and activities as they become known;
-
We’re looking for someone with proven hands on project delivery experience in a similar role, preferably within an iron ore project across a broad scope of disciplines.

To receive hazard reports from personnel and actively control the hazard;

To actively encourage site OH&S Targets to be met.

Ensure all required data entry is completed by maintenance crew;

Ensure all parts purchased are reviewed & signed off by supervisor;

Ensure quarterly stock takes are accurately monitored so that there is a good understanding of stock quantities;

Making sure that the work plans for the job are followed;

Ensuring that all reporting is carried out on time and in full;

To perform a thorough prestart of your equipment at the start of shift;

Only operate equipment that you have been assessed as competent to operate;
What you will bring to the team

Mine Workers Health Surveillance Certificate;
-
WA driving licence, HR class;
-
Senior First Aid Certificate; and
-
7 years maintenance experience in construction & mining industry

Relevant trade qualification
