The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join the team at our head office in Osborne Park on a Monday to Friday roster.

You will play a crucial role in ensuring accuracy and efficiency in accounting processes and support our Mining Wear Parts and MinRes Air businesses to prepare financial information for a wide range of stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be capable of managing competing priorities, demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness in a fast-paced environment. They will be an effective communicator who is confident to engage with stakeholders across the business and external stakeholders. A keen eye for detail high quantity processing is also desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day to day accounting functions, including transactional processing and reporting
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Fixed Asset Register maintenance
  • Administration and maintenance of the job costing system
  • Investigation of transactional queries
  • Balance Sheet & General Ledger reconciliations
  • Inter-company transaction reconciliations
  • Assist with the maintenance of financial systems and procedures documentation
  • Assist with half year and year end Audit requirements and queries
  • Assist with the Annual budgeting and periodic forecasting process

What is Required:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related disciplines
  • Experience within accounting within a corporate environment with experience in Mining, Oil and Gas and resource sectors highly regarded
  • Strong experience with ERP systems, with D365 highly regarded
  • Proficiency within Microsoft Office Suite, with strong experience with Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication and problem-solving skills
  • A pro-active approach with the capability to adapt to changing priorities, with a focus on process improvement
