The Opportunity

Our Onslow Iron Operation is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join the laboratory team based at Kens Bore mine site. This is a full-time position working an 8D 6RR 7N 7RR roster and reports directly to the Laboratory Supervisor.

As a Laboratory Technician you operate and maintain the site assay lab and will be responsible for the preparation and analysis of routine plant and pit samples.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment
• Ensure responses are captured promptly and communicated to the appropriate teams
• Inspect the workplace to identify hazards and assist to implement effective controls
• Accurate and timely reporting of analytical results
• Perform QAQC checks and ensure results are within control limits
• Ensuring you follow MinRes Laboratory procedures & adhere to Health & Safety Standards 
• Contribute to daily PSI meetings
• Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in relation to procedures, systems and work-related activities and initiate improvement action via an entry in the Laboratory Improvement Request Register
  
  

What is Required:

• Demonstrated experience working in similar position within an automated laboratory environment
• MSL40118 Certificate 1V Laboratory Technician (Highly desirable)
• Ability to work cohesively in close knit team environment
• A strong commitment to commitment to safety
• High attention to detail
• Ability to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines
• Full Australian working rights
• Current WA C Class Drivers Licence
