The opportunity
We are seeking a proactive and technically capable Maintenance Planning Engineer to join our team at Bald Hill.
In this role, you will apply engineering judgement and maintenance-planning expertise to coordinate mechanical and electrical maintenance activities across site. You will develop and execute preventative, planned and emergent maintenance schedules, ensuring labour, materials, spares and plant access are available to support safe and efficient execution.
Working closely with Maintenance & Strategy Engineers and operational stakeholders, you will also contribute to equipment strategy, process improvement and capital and operating budget planning.
This is a permanent full-time role on an 8D 6RR roster.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and schedule mechanical and electrical maintenance activities for preventative, planned and emergent work orders.
- Coordinate labour, specialist contractors, materials, spares and plant access to support planned maintenance execution.
- Ensure safety requirements are incorporated into planned and scheduled work.
- Maintain equipment lifecycle history within maintenance systems for major and minor tasks.
- Work with procurement, supply and site teams to support timely delivery of materials, equipment, labour hire and spares.
- Chair weekly planning and scheduling meetings, documenting discussions and actions relating to schedule compliance, maintenance tasks, material availability, plant impacts and labour requirements.
- Prepare weekly maintenance-management KPI performance reporting.
- Liaise with Maintenance & Strategy Engineers to prepare drawings, plans and plant information for projects and upgrades.
- Contribute to the review, development and implementation of systems, processes and procedures that improve equipment performance and lifecycle sustainability.
- Provide input into operating and capital budget preparation.
About you
You are an organised and solutions-focused maintenance professional with strong planning, scheduling and stakeholder-management skills. You can manage multiple competing priorities, communicate effectively across teams and identify practical improvement opportunities.
To be successful, you will bring:
- A relevant engineering qualification or trade certificate.
- Experience in shutdown and/or maintenance planning.
- Demonstrated experience planning, scheduling and budgeting maintenance activities, supported by sound analytical skills.
- Knowledge of maintenance-planning philosophies.
- Experience coordinating with procurement, supply and operations teams to manage materials, spares and labour requirements.
- Experience in production activities within a mineral-processing plant or similar environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, along with experience using Microsoft Project and CMMS systems, including Pronto.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proactive approach to planning and problem solving.
