The Opportunity

With guidance and direction from the Director – Governance and Compliance, the Manager Governance leads the enhancement of governance frameworks across MinRes and its subsidiaries, combining strategic vision, technical expertise, and strong stakeholder engagement. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with senior stakeholders to strengthen organisational integrity, accountability, and transparency while driving continuous improvement in our governance practices.

This role is a 12-month fixed-term contract position with direct reporting to the Director, Governance & Compliance.

 Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, review, development and implementation of governance policies, standards, procedures and frameworks, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategic imperatives.
  • Act as a technical expert on governance across the organisation, supporting teams to develop and improve governance frameworks and advising on compliance with frameworks, charters and policies.
  • Review and maintain policy register, alongside coordination and implementation of governance reviews, assessment of impact of relevant legislation, and the production of reports for Board and its Committees.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to capture requirements and provide advice on governance issues, including legislation and adoption of new policies and frameworks.
  • Drive ongoing enhancements and projects to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation, adopting best practice and industry standards. 
  • Enforce and promote awareness of governance policies, standards and procedures.
  • Implement an effective engagement framework for managing and communicating about upcoming projects and strategic alignment, keeping senior management and key stakeholders informed and engaged. 

What is required?

  • Degree or equivalent qualifications and experience in Governance, Law, Commerce or related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in governance, with a proven track record of driving the development and maintenance of policies, standards and frameworks, preferably within Mining industry 
  • Demonstrated working understanding of governance and compliance standards and frameworks.
  • Proven experience in interpretation and adaption of relevant legislative/ regulatory requirements. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of risk assessment and management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build strong relationships with senior business leaders, technical teams, and stakeholders across the organisation.
