The Opportunity

Wodgina currently have an internal opportunity for an experienced MESO to join their team in a secondment-based role, with the possibility of a permanent placement.

Wodgina MESOs work an 8:6 roster days shift only days, however, there is an on-call requirement. You will work in a small close-knit team with well-rounded medical emergency response and safety professionals

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to and coordinate all emergencies onsite
• Provide 24/7 onsite medical and pre-hospital emergency care, including necessary assessments and treatments.
• Maintain and manage medical and emergency equipment and supplies.
• Liaise with medical professionals and the Injury Management Team to coordinate care.
• Ensure all records, forms, and statutory reporting are completed and confidentially managed.
• Uphold compliance with Poisons Licence requirements and relevant legislation.
• Support disease prevention strategies and remain current with best practices in patient care.
• Contribute to Emergency and Safety Management Plans, procedures and processes.
• Contribute to managing all aspects of emergency preparedness and response.
• Conduct onsite fitness-for-work testing, including drug, alcohol, fatigue, mental health, and hydration assessments.
• Participate in risk assessments, inductions, training, toolbox talks, and incident investigations as required.
• Promote health and safety, report hazards, and participate in debriefs.
• Prepare weekly statistics, conduct inspections, and perform system audits as required.
• Delivery of emergency response training on site

What’s required:

• Diploma in Paramedical Science/ Diploma of Emergency Health Care or higher
• Current Driver's license (Manual)
• Drug and Alcohol testing to ensure MRL Drug and Alcohol Standard testing requirements are adhered to
• Certificate III Emergency Response & Rescue
• 2+ years in an ESO type role, including the delivery of training to ERT personnel
• Experience in the mining and health care industry
• Prior pre-hospital emergency care experience
• Remote medical experience
• Cert IV in Training and Assessing would be advantageous
