The Opportunity

Due to business expansion, MinRes is seeking Principal Environmental Advisors across various locations. In this role, you will lead the delivery of environmental approvals and provide technical advice across all aspects of our operations. Reporting to the Approvals Lead, you will mentor Senior and Advisor team members whilst supporting the continuity of operational and development projects.

  • Lead EIA and regulatory approvals processes across exploration and operational projects under the Petroleum and Geothermal Energy Resources Act, Petroleum Pipelines Act, Mining Act, Environmental Protection Act (Parts IV & V), and EPBC Act
  • Manage Project Definition Forms, Execution Plans, and project schedules in line with approvals timelines and available resources
  • Develop project-specific and Business Unit approval strategies in collaboration with senior leadership and Planning teams
  • Engage and coordinate internal stakeholders to support environmental studies planning and the preparation of approval applications
  • Oversee biological surveys, consultant relationships, and quality assurance of all environmental approval documentation
  • Manage regulator RFI responses and stakeholder relationships to ensure all approvals are delivered on time
  • Maintain Smartsheet dashboards, track critical approvals risks, and provide regular progress reporting to the Approvals Lead

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Extensive experience in an environmental, consulting, or EIA-related role within the energy or mining sector
  • Strong understanding of environmental legislation, guidelines, and regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic and operational environmental advice across all levels of a business
  • Experience assessing project and operational risks and implementing appropriate management measures
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, including conflict resolution
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and experience working within large, multi-disciplinary teams
