The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Production Engineer to join our operations team. In this role, you will serve as a critical technical resource across our fixed plant processing environment, driving operational performance, process improvement, and safety excellence. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, efficient, and safe plant operations while playing a key role in both day-to-day activities and longer-term capital and improvement projects.
This role is a permanent full-time role, on an 8D:6R Roster.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver technical and process engineering support across operational and maintenance teams, acting as a go-to resource for plant-related challenges
- Prepare and distribute accurate daily, weekly, and monthly operations and quality performance reports to inform decision-making at all levels
- Proactively troubleshoot process, control system, and maintenance issues, identifying root causes and recommending sustainable improvements
- Represent operations on capital, continuous improvement, and engineering projects, ensuring operational requirements and constraints are embedded from the outset
- Lead and support formal investigations, driving clear, accountable corrective and preventive actions to resolution
- Champion process safety and safety-in-design principles for fixed plant assets, contributing to a strong and proactive safety culture
- Provide hands-on technical support during planned and unplanned shutdowns, including active involvement in commissioning and recommissioning activities
What will you bring?
Experience & Technical Knowledge
- Demonstrated experience in a Production or Process Engineer role within a fixed plant processing environment
- Post-graduate professional experience, ideally gained within the resources or mining industry
- Experience in iron ore or base metals processing is highly regarded, though not essential
- Exposure to stockyard, stacking, and reclaiming operations and facilities will be a distinct advantage
Skills & Capabilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into actionable outcomes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across technical and non-technical audiences
- Proficient computing abilities, including data analysis and reporting tools
- Sound understanding of, and commitment to, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards

About Onslow
Our Onslow Iron project is set to redefine mining in Western Australia through world-first autonomous road trains, industry leading dust free transport and innovative transhipping.
Taking shape 150 kilometres east of Onslow, the project will ship around 35 million tonnes of iron ore per year and is expected to have a mine life of more than 30 years.
The project encompasses the Ken’s Bore mine (approximately 150km from Onslow), Truck Maintenance Facility and Onslow Port infrastructure.
