The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Pump Product Specialist to develop and execute product strategies across the pumps portfolio within the mining supply chain. This role will be responsible for managing the full product lifecycle, ensuring products remain commercially viable, technically compliant, and aligned to customer and market requirements.

Working closely with engineering, procurement, supply chain, finance, and sales teams, you will play a key role in driving product performance, supporting business growth, and delivering technical expertise to both internal stakeholders and customers. The position will also involve regular site visits to mine sites, processing plants, and distributors to strengthen customer relationships and identify market opportunities.

This role is based our of our Henderson Workshop on Monday to Friday work schedule. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute product strategies for the pumps portfolio across the mining supply chain.
  • Manage the full product lifecycle, from product introduction through to discontinuation, ensuring ongoing market relevance and profitability.
  • Monitor market trends, customer requirements, and competitor activity to guide product positioning and pricing.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and supply chain teams to ensure product quality, compliance, and timely delivery.
  • Maintain current product documentation, technical data sheets, and marketing collateral.
  • Act as the primary technical resource for pumps, including application suitability, installation requirements, and troubleshooting support.
  • Provide product training to internal sales teams and customers on product use and maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Australian and international standards.
  • Analyse sales performance, margins, and profitability to support pricing and stocking strategies.
  • Work with finance to establish revenue targets and manage product budgets.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, warranties, and commercial terms.
  • Assess and manage product risks relating to warranty claims, supply chain reliability, and compliance requirements.
  • Support sales teams with technical expertise and product selection guidance for mining industry clients.
  • Provide quotation support, tender input, and application recommendations.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to grow market share across existing and new mining customers.
  • Conduct regular field visits to mine sites, processing plants, and distributors to build strong customer relationships.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in a similar role, ideally within the mining industry or industrial equipment sector. You will bring a strong blend of technical capability, commercial acumen, and stakeholder engagement skills.

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Business, or a related discipline, or be mechanically trade qualified.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in product management, sales, or technical roles within the mining supply or industrial equipment sector.
  • Strong understanding of pump technology and its applications within mining operations.
  • Experience working closely with OEMs and distributors in pumps or other mining-related equipment.
  • Proven track record of delivering commercial growth and managing complex product portfolios.
  • Exposure to ERP systems such as SAP or Pronto, and CRM tools.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • High level analytical and problem-solving capability.
