The Opportunity
As the Workshop Supervisor, on one of our client operation sites, you will oversee a workforce with a variety of skilled professionals, including Boilermakers, HRT fitters, tyre fitters, and electricians.
You will play a pivotal role by overseeing labour management, coordinating daily operations for safe and cost-efficient asset maintenance, and effectively minimizing downtime with a strong focus on our road train fleet.
Working on an 8D 6RR 7N 7RR roster, your primary responsibilities will include:

Managing parts ordering and inventory.

Visible leadership and mentor our team to foster a continuous improvement culture.

Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations including both MRL/CSI & Client safety expectations, and industry standards.

Utilizing INX for inspections, and providing infield leadership to ensure operational efficiency.

Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the team.

Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement for parts and supplies.

Conduct inspections and quality checks on completed work.

Mentor and motivate your team to maximise productivity and performance.

Implement preventive maintenance programs to minimise equipment breakdowns.

Collaborate with other departments to optimise operations.
What is required?
Our ideal candidate is a proactive, high-energy self-starter who takes ownership, shows initiative, and delivers results without excuses.
You will have proven experience demonstrated in a similar role with success in leadership, coordinating multiple trades and building relationships. With previous experience in a Workshop environment with Kenworth C509 road trains and in remote mining environments.
Other key skills, experience, and qualifications:

Australian recognised Trade Qualification in Mechanical or Electrical.

Previous experience on a Rio Tinto site is desired.

G1, G8, G9 Mine Supervisor certification is highly desired.

Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and vehicle diagnostics.

Leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.

Ability to work under pressure and solve problems efficiently.

Exposure to a Fleet Maintenance software is highly desirable.
