Turn your final year of university into valuable, real-world experience through our 10-week Vacation Student Program, commencing 16 November 2026.
Opportunities are available across our Perth head office and workshop facilities, as well as at our operational sites. Perth-based positions work Monday to Friday, while site-based positions follow an 8 days on, 6 days off roster.

Who we are looking for
We are seeking motivated students who will be in their final year of study in 2027 and are available to join our Vacation Student Program over the summer break.
Opportunities are available for students currently completing degrees in:
- Mining Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Environmental Science
- Geology
- Metallurgy
- Commerce / Law
What we look for
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- A genuine passion for building a career in mining
- Strong academic performance, with a credit average or above
- A safety-first mindset and commitment to our health, safety and environmental standards
- A collaborative spirit and excellent communication skills
- Adaptability and strong time-management skills in fast-paced environments
- A growth mindset and eagerness to develop new skills
What is required
- A résumé and cover letter addressing the position you are applying for
- If you have been referred by a MinRes employee, please include their details in your application.
- An academic transcript, or evidence of your study discipline
- Current Australian Driver's License
- Full Australian working rights, or the ability to work full-time for the duration of the program.
- The ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening.
- A National Police Clearance issued within the past 12 months, or a willingness to obtain one.
