The opportunity

Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent you will be responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction to the Geology team. Ensuring the Geology team always operates in a safe and sustainable manner, whilst developing and effectively communicate geological models, schedules and forecasts to enable sustainable delivery of the ore forecast.

This role is on a 4/3, 4/3, 8/6 roster.

  • Provides visible felt leadership, knowledge, and direction for the Geology team to meet business expectations and develop a continuous improvement culture.
  • Provide and drive a safe working environment that complies with site safety systems and relevant legislation.
  • Ensures the development and communication of short-term geological models, schedules, and forecasts and reconciliation for the operation.
  • Manages key relationships between Geology, Mining, Processing and Logistics, exploration and other key stakeholders
  • Utilises compliance to plan and reconciliation routines to drive continuous improvement and maximise resource value.
  • Develop a culture of continuous improvement throughout the mine geology team to ensure adoption of fit for purpose best practice operations.
  • Enables an environment where diversity of thought is welcomed and people are encouraged to speak up.
  • Identifies, builds, and develops talent and capability, including succession of planning for key positions.

What is required?

  • Degree in Geology, Geoscience or relevant discipline
  • Track record of leading and engaging a team to safely deliver outcomes that consistently meet or exceed targets
  • Highly proficient in Surpac + GCX + Vulcan Software
  • Acquire, Datashed, or similar database management software experience
  • Experience planning, designing and executing RCGC programs
  • Strong QA/QC reporting skills
