The Opportunity

MinRes are seeking expressions of interest for highly experienced Medical Emergency Services Officer and Medics to join our various locations in Western Australia on an 8x6 roster. Reporting to the site leadership, you will play a vital role in promoting a safe culture among employees and contractors.

Medical Emergency Services Officers

• Respond and coordinate all emergency situations onsite
• Delivery of emergency, fire and first aid training on site
• Manage and maintain onsite stock, emergency vehicles, devices and equipment
• Assist site Medics with delivery of medical care to employees
• Promote and support site Health and Safety initiatives

Medics

• Maintain all medical and emergency equipment to a high standard including inventory control.
• Effectively liaise with Medical Professionals and MRL Injury Management Team to ensure appropriate levels of treatment is provided to ill and injured employees.
• Comply with and maintain site Poisons Licence in accordance with Medicines and Poisons Legislation.
• Regularly review the site Emergency Management and Safety Management Plans (in a medical capacity) for currency, suggest improvements, update plans, procedures and follow up approvals.
• Conduct on site fitness to work testing including Drug and Alcohol screening, fatigue management, mental health & hydration (Inc. field hydration testing).
• Participate positively in group risk assessments, site specific inductions, prestart and return to work meetings.
• Provide ongoing safety and emergency response training (in a medical capacity) as advised by Senior Safety Advisor.

What you’ll bring to the team

Medical Emergency Services Officers

• Extensive experience in a similar role in the mining industry
• Certificate III Mines Emergency Response and Rescue
• Certificate IV in Pre-Hospital Care
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrate initiative and creative problem-solving skills

Medics

• Minimum Bachelors in Paramedical Science (Paramedicine) or Bachelor of Science (Nursing)
• Extensive experience in emergency response or front line experience (emergency department)

• AHPARA Registration as Paramedic or Nurse
• Valid Drivers licence
• Cert III in Mines and Rescue (Highly desirable)
