The Opportunity

Mineral Resources (MinRes) is seeking an experienced Senior Resource Geologist to join our Exploration & Geology Technical Services team in Perth.

Reporting to the Principal Resource Geologist, you will support the growing resource-estimation requirements as drilling activity increases across our Lithium and  Iron Ore Operations. You will contribute to the development and maintenance of high-quality Resource Models helping deliver robust geological outcomes that inform project development and operational decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, validate and document robust mineral resource estimates and resource models.
  • Support the delivery of short-term geological models in response to increased drilling and operational requirements.
  • Apply resource-estimation principles and geostatistical techniques across lithium, iron ore and other commodity programmes.
  • Conduct data analysis and ensure drilling, sampling and assay datasets meet required QAQC standards.
  • Use 3D geological-modelling software to interpret data, build models and communicate technical outcomes.
  • Clearly communicate resource results, uncertainty and opportunities to technical stakeholders.
  • Support resource-focused projects across multiple operating and exploration environments.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, environmental responsibility and ethical reporting.

This is a chance to work in a technically influential Perth-based role with exposure to a range of commodities, projects and operating environments. You will join a collaborative technical team where your expertise will directly support resource development decisions and business growth.

What you’ll bring

To be successful, you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Geology, Earth Sciences or a related discipline.
  • At least 6 years’ experience in the mining industry, including five or more years in resource geology.
  • Demonstrated understanding of mineral resource-estimation principles and practices.
  • Experience developing and reporting resource models.
  • Strong 3D geological-modelling capability using Vulcan and/or Leapfrog.
  • A sound understanding of drilling-data QAQC principles and practices.
  • Experience using the acQuire geological database.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • The ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams across diverse project settings.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented approach and commitment to safe, responsible and high-quality technical work.
