About the role 

Reporting to the Manager for Operational Technology the Operational Technical Hardware Specialist, you will enable us to take the next steps on our operational technology journey towards the future of mining. By providing technical expertise, and implementation/operational experience you will support the growth of the team and their capabilities. You will develop and leverage both internal and external relationships to identify process improvements, create standardisation, and understand and achieve business goals. 

This position will predominantly be based at our State of the Art Head Office in Osborne Park and will require Adhoc site travel. 

Responsibilities will include but not limited to: 

  • pate in and lead strategic / technical discussions and collaborate in the creation of new ideas / roadmap for future development with cross functional teams, suppliers, vendors, technology developers and operations
  • Leads and works with cross-functional teams to facilitate, and/or assist in project/program management
  • Contributes to research of significant developments in current and emerging technologies to evaluate trends, develop business insights, and provide recommendations to stakeholders
  • Map and analyze current maintenance processes, systems, and data flows to assess preparedness for deployment of these new technologies
  • Provide SME support and troubleshooting for repair and maintenance of technology on-board hardware including: Fleet Management System, Asset Health Specialist, Drill Technology Systems & Collision Avoidance System 
  • Analyse equipment failure trends and recommend replacement equipment and components or continuous improvement projects

What you will bring to the team: 

  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking, human relations, and communication skills especially with a diverse group of team members including technicians, hardware engineers, managers, and executives (technical and non-technical groups)
  • 5+ years of related industry experience in automotive/heavy machinery
  • Previous experience in a heavy industry maintenance environment, preferably associated with Mining
  • Knowledge of industrial network, microwave, and wireless systems will be an advantage 
  • Understanding of mine infrastructure and logistics systems
  • Prior experience implementing, maintaining, and/or optimising operational technology hardware
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong safety culture and willingness to comply with MinRes process & procedures
