The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join the team at our head office in Osborne Park on a Monday to Friday roster. You will play a crucial role in ensuring accuracy and efficiency in accounting processes and support the Management Accountants to prepare financial information for a wide range of stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be capable of managing competing priorities, demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness in a fast-paced environment. They will be an effective communicator who is confident to engage with stakeholders across the business.    

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Day to day accounting functions, including transactional processing and reporting
• Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
• Fixed Asset Register maintenance
• Administration and maintenance of the job costing system
• Investigation of transactional queries
• Balance Sheet & General Ledger reconciliations
• Inter-company transaction reconciliations
• Assist with the maintenance of financial systems and procedures documentation
• Assist with half year and year end Audit requirements and queries
• Assist with the Annual budgeting and periodic forecasting process

What is Required?

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or similar
• Previous accounting experience, preferable within the Oil & Gas and/or Mining sectors
• ERP system experience
• Intermediate level of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel
• Excellent attention to detail, communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
• A pro-active approach with the capability to adapt to changing priorities
