The Opportunity
The Heritage Systems and Planning Analyst is responsible for developing and managing the heritage planning system, which includes maintaining heritage planning assumptions, and creating toolkits to provide heritage insights that contribute to long-term capability within the mine value chain.
This role requires strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that heritage data integration with life-of-mine and tactical planning system outputs meets our heritage business planning requirements.
For this position you will report directly to the Manager Environmental & Heritage Planning and be based at our HQ office in Osborne Park.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Liaise with heritage, environment, and planning stakeholders to identify system requirements and gather input for continuous improvement of the heritage planning system.
- Design, implement, and maintain the heritage planning system to ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility for all key users.
- Regularly review, update, and audit the heritage planning assumptions database to reflect current business needs, regulatory requirements, and operational changes.
- Create and refine toolkits that enable the heritage team to generate timely and actionable insights for tactical and strategic decision-making.
- Develop robust interfaces and data linkages between heritage data and life-of-mine or tactical planning systems, ensuring seamless, timely, and accurate data flows.
- Prepare and present regular reports and updates to management regarding heritage schedule status, heritage system developments, and opportunities for optimisation.
What is required
- A tertiary qualification is preferred, with a bachelor’s degree in a planning, commerce, finance or data analytics field or similar
- Understanding of the heritage approval process within the mining industry is highly desirable
- Demonstrated experience in building systems from proof-of-concept into production.
- Proficient in using Gantt-style scheduling systems, such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Projects and or Primavera P6 project management software.
- Experience with interfacing with other technical disciplines including mine planning, heritage and environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Sound experience with ArcGIS software is required
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite – particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
