The Opportunity
MinRes Air is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Controller to join our Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO), operating under CASA Part 145 approval. Based at Perth Airport, this permanent full-time position operates on a 4-on-3 off roster.
Reporting directly to the Procurement and Planning Manager, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive inventory and materials management services to ensure the seamless, uninterrupted supply of aircraft parts, tooling, and ground support equipment (GSE) across our AMO operations. You will play a pivotal role in supporting supply chain functions, procurement activities, tooling/ GSE management to assist with production planning — ensuring our maintenance operations remain compliant, safe, and efficient.
You will collaborate closely with teams across the business — including procurement (MRL and MRA), production planning, CAMO, quality assurance, and operational maintenance teams — to strengthen our inventory management capability and reduce organisational risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating the availability of parts, tooling, materials, and GSE to ensure maintenance tasks can be completed safely and on schedule
- Collaborate with the production planning team to forecast material and tooling requirements, ensuring timely availability to support scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities
- Procuring aircraft parts, consumables, tooling, and GSE exclusively from suppliers and vendors on the MinRes Air Approved Supplier List.
- Managing the receipt, dispatch, and documentation of loan or exchange components in line with the AMO's exposition procedures.
- Inspecting incoming aircraft parts, tooling, and GSE, checking for correct documentation, physical condition, shelf life, and any signs of damage or suspected unapproved parts
- Ensuring parts and materials are stored in conditions (temperature, humidity, segregation) that meet OEM and regulatory requirements
- Quarantining and processing any parts that fail acceptance inspection, including initiating non-conformance or occurrence reports where required.
- Oversee the control, calibration tracking, and availability of tooling, ensuring serviceability and compliance at all times
- Manage the inventory, serviceability, and maintenance scheduling of Ground Support Equipment (GSE)
- Processing removed components, including completion of removal documentation, tagging, and dispatch to rectification or serviceable store as appropriate
- Maintaining accurate stock records, monitoring minimum stock levels, and initiating replenishment orders to avoid production delays
- Monitoring and managing time/life-limited items, consumables, and hazardous materials to ensure expired items are removed from serviceable stock.
- Ensuring all spares records are retained for the required periods in accordance with the Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE)
- Operating in accordance with the AMO's approved Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) & Engineering Procedure Manual
- Maintain positive working relationships and clear communication channels with key stakeholders, including Maintenance, Quality, and Planning teams
What You'll Bring to the Team
Essential:
- Proven experience in a similar inventory or materials management role, preferably within a Part 145 AMO or aviation maintenance environment
- Sound understanding of CASA Part 145 requirements as they relate to materials, parts, and tooling control
- Familiarity with airworthiness requirements governing the control, traceability, and release of aeronautical products
- Experience managing tooling registers and GSE inventories in a regulated environment
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with production planning teams to align inventory availability with maintenance schedules
- Familiarity with approved maintenance data, task cards, work orders, and documentation requirements relevant to parts and tooling used in maintenance
- Strong skills in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
- Excellent communication, analysis, and problem-solving abilities
- Effective time management and ability to prioritise in a fast-paced operational environment
Desirable:
- Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or an associated field — or equivalent industry experience
- Awareness of business improvement tools and continuous improvement methodologies
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a high-performing team

MinRes Air is the newly formed internal flights department providing air charter services from a dedicated MinRes Perth Terminal directly to our site operations, to support our Fly In Fly Out (FIFO) Operations.
MinRes Air will provide complete flight flexibility to respond to MinRes’ requirements to facilitate optimum staff rosters and additional flight capacity for construction and organic growth.
Dedicated aircraft fleet, terminals, ground handling and maintenance facilities (staged), all of which are controlled by MinRes Air and managed by MinRes to provide a complete end to end process.
