About the Opportunity

MinRes Marine is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mineral Resources Ltd (ASX: MIN) and operates a fleet of industry-leading transhippers and support vessels. Supporting the Onslow Iron project, MinRes Marine is set to establish one of the largest and most sophisticated transhipping operations in Australia.

We are seeking Marine Mechanical Fitters with fixed plant crushing experience to join our team for current and future opportunities.

These roles are full time positions and can allow you to grow your skill set with on-site training and the opportunity to develop your career on the tools and as a leader.

Key Responsibilities:

• Installation, repair, routine maintenance and fault finding of shipboard machinery including material handling systems.
• Maintaining, repairing and troubleshooting mechanical equipment and operating systems essential for propulsion, power generation, auxiliary machinery and material handling systems while adhering to stringent safety and environmental standards
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance, breakdowns and testing.
• Supervise contractors and provide guidance during shutdown periods.

What is required:

• Demonstrated safety commitment
• Working knowledge on carrying out maintenance of material handling systems on floating marine assets.(desirable)
• Working knowledge of marine engines and auxiliary machinery.
• Experience with fixed plant maintenance, ideally in mining or a similar industry
• Australian or Australian recognised trade qualification
• Current Australian Driver's License
• HRWL (DG, RB, CN, WP) (highly desirable)
• Construction Induction Card (Mandatory)
• MSIC (desirable)
• Working at Heights, Confined Space and Gas Testing (desirable)
• Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC)
• Ability to meet pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening requirements.
