The Opportunity
Mechanical Maintenance Technician run and maintain mechanical systems in power plants, operating equipment like turbines, pumps, and engines while performing preventative and corrective maintenance, requiring trade qualifications (e.g., Fitter), strong fault-finding skills, and a focus on safety. These roles blend operations and technical maintenance, ensuring reliable power generation through tasks from daily checks to major overhauls.
We are looking for qualified and experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician
The role is on a family friendly 8:6 roster, dayshift only and are offered on a FIFO out of Perth
The Role
- Operate and maintain diesel reciprocating engines and power generation equipment
- Operate instrumentation and process control systems
- Conduct routine inspections, scheduled servicing, and emergency repairs on mechanical components
- Ensuring that the site is operating as required, including identifying any short- or long-term reliability issues, or improvement opportunities that may be present
- Complete maintenance records and reports
- Participate in On Call activities when rostered on site, ensuring prompt response is given to any issue that may arise after hours
- Conduct routine maintenance to site assets as and when required
Key requirements:
- Australian or Australian recognised Mechanical Trade Qualification
- Current Australian Driver's HR License
- HRWL (CN) (highly desirable)
- Extensive experience and sound knowledge in power generation, heavy industry, or large mechanical systems.
- Extensive experience in running and maintaining Diesel reciprocating engines
- A high standard of fault finding and trouble-shooting ability
- Demonstrated commitment to safety
- Ability to work autonomously in remote location areas
- Proficient with computers and monitoring equipment to measure, record and adjust the power station within allowable operating parameters
- Must hold working rights in Australia
- Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC)
- Ability to meet pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening requirements.
