The Opportunity

Acting as the technical expert in risk management, you will provide specialist advice, drive high‑quality practices and uplift capability across the business. As a trusted advisor to the Board, Executive and operational leaders, you will protect and create value through risk expertise, insights, oversight, challenge and support in creating a strong risk culture and sustainable outcomes.

Reporting to the Manager - Risk & Compliance, you will partner with business units, shared services and site operations to deliver best‑practice risk governance, effective control environments and meaningful risk insights to inform strategic decision‑making.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on the Risk Management Framework to the broader business
  • Delivery of Corporate and Site Risk Workshops, acting as a Risk Business Partner for select parts of the business
  • Driving Positive Risk Culture 
  • Monitor risk performance, capability and culture to support sustainable risk outcomes
  • Apply a deep understanding of the risk framework, including risk appetite, governance, process and systems
  • Undertake Risk Analysis across a wide range of areas
  • Provide the business guidance on control design, implementation and monitoring activities
  • Support GRC System uplift project and roll-out
  • Coach and Train business and Risk team members
  • Support the Manager Risk in strategic risk projects and broader framework reviews
  • Lead the preparation of high-quality risk reports, dashboards and thematic analyses for Executive and Board Committees

 

What is required

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Law, Commerce or related fields highly regarded or substantial experience in risk management
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise risk management frameworks, preferably aligned to ISO 31000
  • Demonstrated experience within risk management in a Senior position within complex environments, with experience or exposure to the Mining, Mining Services, Construction or Resource sectors highly regarded
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement abilities, building strong relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience developing risk methodologies, tools or frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience in operational improvement initiatives and working with risk management systems and data analytics tools
  • Exceptional report writing skills including board reporting
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making abilities
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to work in a dynamic environment
