The Opportunity

MinRes Technical Services Operations is expanding, and we are seeking Senior Mining Geologist to join the team at MinRes Bald Hill site operation on a regular 15/13 roster.

As Senior Mining Geologist you will play a crucial role to provide geological guidance to the technical services team and mining operations to successfully deliver planned ore quality and quantity to processing operations. This is achieved by having a thorough understanding of the following technical aspects of mine geology:

• quality and integrity of geological sampling and data,
• development and maintenance of geological models for use in short term planning,
• mine to mill reconciliations, and
• periodic reporting and analysis.

By collaborating with all stakeholders across the supply chain, establishing and managing continuous improvement initiatives is pivotal to the success of this role with the common objective to safely produce high quality spodumene concentrate.

Your primary responsibilities may include;

• Drive grade control planning, drill management, sampling, QA/QC, wireframing and geological modelling.
• Provide geological input into pit designs, geological model updates for short term planning, review and provide recommendations for D&B designs to optimise ore recovery.
• Collaborate with geology and metallurgy teams to problem solve challenges and identify opportunities to maximise ore recovery.
• Manage systems and software for geological and mining data processes.
• Coordinate ore delivery for processing with mining operations.
• Reconciliation and reporting of mine to mill data and compliance to plan.
• Support, mentor and develop our Mining Geologist

What is required?

• Tertiary level education in Geology;
• 7 years’ experience in the mining and exploration industry;
• Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
• Previous lithium experience his highly desirable
• Grade control experience.
• Proficient with Surpac, Leapfrog, MX Deposit, acQuire software packages preferred.
• Conversant with mining databases and data management.
• Proficient with Microsoft suite of including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI;
• Well-developed communication skills– both oral and written;
• Technical reporting.
• Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment. 
• Meet deadlines and manage priorities;
• Attention to detail;
