The Opportunity
The Senior Underground Mine Projects Engineer will provide technical direction, project management, and delivery to MinRes Lithium mine site operations and corporate stakeholders of underground projects and infrastructure.
This role involves having strong stakeholder engagement with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while implementing projects and infrastructure to enable delivery of mine plans to the business objectives.
For this position you will report directly to the Manager Underground Planning and be part of our long-term planning team, you will be based at our HQ office on Osborne Park, and on occasions oversee projects onsite as the business requires.
Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for taking underground projects, infrastructure, and productivity improvement projects from concept to implementation to enable delivery of mine plans
- Identify, evaluate, select, project manage, execute, integrate, and handover infrastructure, enabling, and productivity projects to site
- Ensure project planning is integrated into engineering, budgeting, forecasting, and corporate planning processes
- Contribute to mining Concept, Pre- Feasibility (PFS), Feasibility (FS) and due diligence studies
- Visit underground project and operational sites regularly and as required to scope and deliver projects, engage with site personnel, and review progress against plan
- Support the mining approvals process by identifying and incorporating mining approval requirements into underground projects
- Communicate mine projects to stakeholders
- Support site personnel to implement projects that enable mine plans and budgets
What is required:
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or relevant qualifications
- Extensive experience within underground planning/operations
- Experience in scoping and delivering underground capital, productivity, and enabling project work
- Proficient in the Deswik suite of mine planning products across underground, design, and scheduling
- Strong stakeholder engagement project management skills
- Exposure to infrastructure planning and economic assessments
- Previous experience in large scale, complex underground mining environments
- Experience with paste-fill and ventilation design preferable
- Self-managed written and verbal communication skills
- Proven experience in meeting deadlines and agility to achieve project directives
