The Opportunity

Within the Strategy & Growth department and reporting directly to our Sustainability Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in advancing MinRes’ sustainability performance. Your technical expertise, analytical capability and commitment to ESG principles will help drive transparent and impactful sustainability disclosures. This is a hands‑on role with the opportunity to influence meaningful change across our operations, making a real difference for the planet, our people and the communities we serve.

You’ll work with key internal stakeholders across various business units to deliver high‑quality sustainability insights, reports and improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical and Operational

  • Gather and analyse sustainability performance data from across MinRes’ operations
  • Assist in preparing internal reports for the Executive Leadership Team, Sustainability Committee and Board
  • Contribute to the compilation and analytics of annual sustainability disclosures in the Annual Report and Modern Slavery Statement, backed by key sustainability reporting frameworks.
  • Support the external sustainability assurance process
  • Review ESG rating agency data and respond to investor/stakeholder ESG information requests

People Deliverables

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop goals, metrics and processes for measuring performance
  • Champion sustainability through engagement and collaboration across the business
  • Support a high‑performance culture ensuring responsibilities, targets and results are achieved
  • Foster a positive work environment aligned to MinRes values with a commitment to sustainability, inclusion, and equity

What is Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environment/Sustainability, Commerce, Accounting, Data Science/Analytics or a similar discipline (Highly Regarded)
  • Established experience ideally within corporate or professional services within a sustainability focussed position
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with corporate sustainability reporting, data management and assurance processes (desirable)
  • Proven success applying expertise to deliver sustainability objectives
  • Strong research skills and ability to analyse and interpret data for benchmarking and reporting
  • Knowledge of ESG trends and their impact on businesses
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB)
  • Experience engaging external consultants to deliver sustainability outcomes
  • Proficiency in managing large data sets and using data visualisation tools like Power BI to support insights and decision‑making
