About

MinRes is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Specialist to join our Injury Management Team. This role is a Monday to Friday office-based role at our Osborne Park Head Office.

You will provide expert technical advice, lead complex case management and dispute resolution and design targeted strategies that reduce claim costs, minimise insurance premiums and deliver best‑practice injury management outcomes. Working closely with operational teams, insurers, regulators, healthcare providers and other stakeholders, you will embed proactive early intervention into our safety culture, driving continual improvement and enabling seamless return‑to‑work outcomes.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will support a team of high‑performing injury management professionals, fostering a collaborative, results‑driven culture. You will champion our function in delivering consistent, high‑quality services, aligned with organisational goals and industry best practice.

We're looking for a highly skilled professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, heavy‑industry environment and possesses deep knowledge of workers' compensation legislation, injury management practices and the unique operational challenges of the mining sector.

Requirements:

  • Provide expert technical guidance on complex claims, conduct risk assessments and integrate injury prevention strategies into operational practices.
  • Lead complex case management, dispute resolution and settlement processes in collaboration with internal legal, HR and operational teams.
  • Manage and optimise the workers' compensation portfolio across multiple mining operations, ensuring efficient claims handling, compliance with legislation and alignment with organisational objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with insurers, regulators, healthcare providers and other key stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Drive proactive early intervention and best practice return-to-work strategies.
  • Design and deliver targeted training, coaching and capability‑building initiatives for leaders and health teams.
  • Monitor portfolio trends, conduct audits and quality reviews and report performance insights to senior leadership to inform continual improvement.
  • Embed a safety‑first culture and contribute to quality and risk improvement initiatives across injury management operations.

What will you bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in health, psychology, business or law (preferred)
  • Extensive experience in workers' compensation claims management, ideally in a Technical Specialist capacity
  • Deep knowledge of WA workers' compensation legislation, regulatory frameworks and relevant industrial standards
  • Proven ability to develop and implement claims management strategies, and successfully resolve complex claims with cost-effective outcomes
  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated experience managing teams in high-pressure environments
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience managing large-scale projects aligned to business objectives
  • Proficiency in MS Office and a case management system
