The Opportunity

MinRes Marine is seeking motivated individuals to apply for the 2025 Deck and Engine cadetship, offering a clear pathway to a career in the maritime sector.

During this program, the successful candidate will gain the following;

  • Gain formal university qualifications and/ or STCW qualifications in Deck and Engineering disciplines
  • Receive Qualifying Sea Service (QSS) opportunities, both at MinRes Marine and the wider marine industry
  • Be employed for the period of your cadetship
  • Receive mentorship and support from leading marine industry experts both on and offshore
  • Work on Australia’s most unique marine operation
  • Receive financial support for tuition, living expenses and a wage
  • Be part of Australia’s largest and most unique marine operation with a strong culture and commitment to the development of seafarers

 

 

 What is required

  • Available to commence or continue study or QSS in 2025.
  • Currently enrolled in Bachelor of Applied Science (Nautical Science), Batchelor of Applied Science (Marine Engineering) or equivalent in Australia, or meet the minimum entry requirements ATAR, STAT or Certificate IV equivalent.
  • Advanced standing engineering cadets with an AMSA approved trade also encouraged to apply.
  • Able to obtain an AMSA Medical Certificate.
  • Eligible for and obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)
  • Hold a valid passport with a minimum of 6 months’ currency.

 About MinRes Marine

MinRes Marine is a wholly owned subsidiary of MinRes and operates under the Mining Services business segment. MinRes Marine is or will operate a fleet of up to seven Articulated Tug and Barge (ATB) vessels in the Port of Ashburton in Western Australia. The transhipping operation services the Onslow Iron project. In addition, MinRes Marine also operates two Crew Transfer Vessels and has procured a harbour tugboat to support the transhipping fleet.
