The Opportunity

Reporting to the Quality and Operational Assurance Superintendent for Onslow Iron, you will focus on Inventory and Product Quality and be responsible for overseeing operational contracts, particularly focusing on inventory movement and maintaining the quality of products and services on an 8x6 roster.

In the role as the Quality and Operational Assurance Coordinator, you will be overseeing the Mine-to-Ship Services, quality assurance and product testing.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Oversees data validation process performed by OCC
  • Monitoring daily changes to the preferred laycan schedule. Facilitating value trade-off discussions to ensure ships are available for loading while optimising shipping freight/demurrage costs.
  • Working closely within the lab to ensure smooth operations and contract compliance.
  • Reviewing ship loading documentation.
  • Data reconciliation – weightometers, TSV draft surveys, and ship surveys to ensure data accuracy and validity.
  • Communicate production performance and contract compliance data to stakeholders in a clear concise manner.

What is Required?

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Diploma in related mining/marine/supply chain field or equivalent desirable.
  • Current WA Driver’s License – C Class.
  • Advance Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Proven experience in Port Operations including transhipping.
  • Ability to prioritise workload to meet targets.
  • Current or ability to obtain a Maritime Security Card (MSIC).

About Onslow

The Onslow Iron project is a landmark pit-to-port operation that will span 150 kilometres east from Onslow towards the Ken’s Bore mine. The site is currently under construction, with first ore expected mid-2024. When launched, Onslow Iron will redefine mining with its world-first autonomous road trains, industry leading dust free transport and resort-style accommodation for a workforce of around 800 people.
