Mineral Resources are accepting Expressions of Interest from experienced Safety Advisors for up coming Greenfield Construction Projects in the Pilbara region. The anticipated work will be across our owner operator site and external clients working a 2/1 FIFO roster from Perth. 

The scope of work will include NPI area including Workshops, Village, Fuel Farm, Washdown Bay, Administration Facility in addition to a Lump & Fines Crushing Plant.

 The Opportunity

 
In the Safety Advisor role you will be instrumental in influencing safety practices and ensuring compliance on this Project. 
 

What you will be doing:

Reporting through to the Senior Safety Advisor your duties will include:

  • Co-ordinate and participate in Safety audits and inspections activities in order to help continuously improve, maintain and implement better operating systems on site.
  • Conducting formal Alcohol and Drug testing on site as required.
  • Support and advise site management on all safety and environmental matters.
  • Experienced in conducting Incident Investigations. 
  • Induction of new employees.
  • Analysis of trends in relation to workplace safety performance.
  • Site workplace inspections and assisting in the preparation JHA’s.
  • Provide input at Toolbox Meetings and Pre-start meetings and ensure records are kept.
  • Administration and filing of all safety related documentation on site.

What is required? (Experience, Tickets & Licenses)

  • Minimum 3+ years’ recent experience a Safety Advisor working on Construction Projects in the Resources industry.
  • Cert IV or Diploma in Work Health and Safety.
  • Extensive knowledge of safety & environmental legislation, policies and practices.
  • Well-developed report writing and analytical skills.
  • Have strong interpersonal, negotiation, facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills.
  • Construction White Card. 
  • Unlimited Australian working rights. 
  • National Police Clearance (12 months).
  • Ability to pass a Pre-employment Medical and a Drug / Alcohol Screen.
