The Opportunity

We are currently looking for a Mine Manager to oversee the development, delivery, and performance of upcoming contract mining operations. Reporting to the Executive General Manager of Mining, you will be the single point of accountability, responsible for ensuring the safe, productive, and cost-effective delivery of the project.

This role will be on a 5/2 4/3 roster, working on a range of upcoming projects throughout Queensland.  

• Ensure site leadership meet their daily targets, and performance is managed accordingly
• Demonstrate and maintain a high standard of personal safety, strong safety leadership and a commitment to the safety of fellow workers.
• Play an active role in all incident investigations to ensure the root causes are identified and where applicable, work practices are improved in a timely manner.
• Act as a mentor and guide for a team of Supervisors and Superintendents, empowering them to lead their teams towards operational success while adhering to our MinRes vision and standards.
• Ensure the mining operation complies with all local, state, and federal regulations, particularly the QLD Mines Inspectorate, and Resources Safety & Health.
• Collaborate with environmental teams to implement and maintain sustainable practices, ensuring the operation’s minimal impact on the surrounding environment while meeting or exceeding all regulatory requirements.
• Oversee and manage the mine’s annual budget, ensuring that operations are cost-effective while maintaining consistent operational excellence.
• Track operational expenditures such as labour, materials, and equipment costs. Work to stay within budget constraints while maintaining high levels of production and safety standards.

Your experience and Skills

• Extensive experience working in a Leadership role within an operational mining environment
• First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency is advantageous
• Ability to be appointed as Site Senior Executive if required
• A proven track record managing at both an operational and strategic requirements
• Strong commercial acumen, including cost management and budgeting
• A strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance accountabilities
• Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with our long-term, valued client
