The Opportunity

MinRes seeks an experienced Pit Technician to join our Onslow Iron operations on an 8x6 FIFO roster from Perth. Reporting to the Senior Mining Geologist, you must handle a range of sampling tasks and ensure the safe transportation of samples. The position will also be vital in grade control, ore-mark ups, spotting, and data entry.

• Undertake diverse sampling tasks, including site blast-hole sampling, plant sampling, ROM sampling, density and moisture sampling.
• Organise safe transportation of samples from sites to the laboratory.
• Assist with data entry, validation, and processing related to mining operations
• Assist technical services and mine operations teams in delivering results aligned to organisational goals.

What is required?

• Minimum 2 years’ experience working in the same Mining Production environment
• Competent utilising MS Office suite, including Microsoft Excel and Word
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate to all level of the business
• Current Western Australian ‘C Class’ Drivers Licence 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment 

About Ken’s Bore (Onslow)

The Onslow Iron project is a landmark pit-to-port operation that will span 150 kilometres east from Onslow towards the Ken’s Bore mine. The site is currently under construction, with first ore expected mid-2024. When launched, Onslow Iron will redefine mining with its world-first autonomous road trains, industry leading dust free transport and resort-style accommodation for a workforce of around 800 people.
