The opportunity:

Reporting directly to the Manager of Data & Insights, you will contribute to the development, maintenance and optimisation of business intelligence reporting across the Data, Integration and Analytics (DIA) Platform at MinRes. Acting as a key link between business stakeholders and the data engineering team, you will ensure reporting solutions are fit for purpose, performant and aligned with organisational goals.

You will collaborate directly with business users to translate requirements into effective reports and dashboards, while working closely with Data Engineers to shape the gold layer of the data platform for optimal reporting outcomes. Enabling self-service analytics, improving data literacy and supporting enterprise wide data-driven decision making across the organisation.

This role will commence as a 12-month fixed term contract.

Your primary responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and maintain effective Power BI reports and dashboards for business stakeholders
  • Capture and document requirements, ensuring they align with project and business objectives
  • Collaborate with the data engineering team to improve and develop gold‑layer schemas and models in the DIA platform
  • Analyse existing reports to improve data sources, manipulation processes and metric definitions
  • Engage stakeholders to identify opportunities to uplift and streamline reporting suites
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for the DIA platform, leveraging tools such as Databricks, dbt, and SQL

 

What is required:

  • Qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
  • Certifications in Power BI highly desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in reporting and analytics with hands-on proficiency with Power BI sourced from modern data platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake and SQL experience required ‑on proficiency with Power BI sourced from modern data platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake
  • Experience capturing business requirements and collaborating on the development, deployment and maintenance of business intelligence reports
  • Exposure to Databricks, dbt, and CI/CD pipelines desirable
  • Expore to Amazon Redshift desirable
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to deliver innovative and impactful reporting solutions
  • Strong communicator with stakeholder engagement experience in complex business environments
