The Opportunity
MinRes seeks highly skilled, motivated, and experienced Early Childhood Educator Room Leads to oversee the day-to-day operations in our Pre-Toddler (14 Months – 2 years) and Toddler (2 - 3 years) room at our brand new state of the art Next Gen Early Learning Centre. As a Room Lead, you will take a leadership role in guiding a team of experienced educators to deliver high-quality early childhood education and care. This role is key to ensuring the smooth running of the room and fostering an environment that promotes learning, growth, and development for every child. You will be expected to model excellence in practice, striving for continuous improvement and consistently meeting the highest standards of care and education.
- Lead a team of educators in the room, ensuring that daily operations are conducted efficiently and in line with the service’s policies, procedures, and curriculum requirements.
- Oversee the planning, delivery, and evaluation of a play-based curriculum that aligns with the National Quality Framework (NQF) and the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that promotes children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Facilitate a collaborative approach within the team, promoting the sharing of ideas, resources, and best practices.
- Lead the team in keeping digital detailed and accurate records of children's milestones, learning stories, and portfolios, ensuring high-quality documentation that is reflective of the children’s learning journey.
- Lead the room in maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements, including the National Quality Standards (NQS), policies, and health and safety regulations.
- Promote a culture where the wellbeing and safety of children are prioritized, and any concerns are addressed in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Oversee the management of resources within the room, ensuring that materials are appropriate, well-maintained, and used effectively to support learning outcomes.
Your Experience and Skills:
- Minimum qualification of a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care
- Proven experience as an Early Childhood Lead Educator, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience in leading a team, developing and implementing curriculum, and maintaining high standards of practice.
- In-depth knowledge of child development, early childhood education practices, and the EYLF/NQF.
- Ability to plan and implement engaging, child-centered programs that support learning and development.
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Knowledge of child protection policies and creating a safe, supportive learning environment.
- Passionate and compassionate with a genuine desire to support children’s learning and development
- Positive, enthusiastic, and approachable, with a continuous desire to improve and strive for excellence in all areas of work.
