The Opportunity

CSI Mining Services is seeking an experienced Senior Safety Advisor at our Head Office working Monday to Friday, with site travel required a couple of times a month.  Reporting through to the Superintendent of Operational Safety, you will play an integral part in supporting our Crushing and Processing division, contributing to the promotion of Health and Safety, responsible work ethic and safety culture across all CSI-managed and operated sites

  • Support the development and implementation of a project systems approach to WHS including the support of the business's strategic direction.
  • Support key influencers, including people leaders and project managers on methods to foster and monitor a positive HSE culture.
  • Implement, monitor, and evaluate processes and procedures to investigate, analyse and report on incidents and nonconformities indicating failures or inadequacies of controls.
  • Support and coordinate regular audits and inspections covering management systems, safe work procedures, behavioural safety, and preventative measures.
  • Demonstrate initiative and creative critical thinking skills.
  • Ensure all projects and sites report serious and minor incidents, near misses and safety observations in line with business and site targets.
  • Audit all projects independently and per time limits outlined in the OHM

What is required?

  • Tertiary level qualification in Work, Health, and Safety or higher.
  • Minimum 5 - 10 years’ experience in a similar role within crushing, and or processing mining environment
  • Strong relationship-building, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Strong auditing experience.
  • Completed a Lead Investigation course, preferably ICAM.
  • Demonstrated success in leading, coaching, mentoring, and developing diverse teams.
