The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Shutdown Planner to join our team at the Onslow Iron Project Kens Bore on an 8D 6RR roster. As part of this role, you will be central to strategic planning and execution of our shutdown maintenance operations, ensuring onsite efficiency and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage detailed shutdown maintenance plans and schedules.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for maintenance activities during shutdown planning.
  • Coordinate resources, labour, and materials for shutdown maintenance projects.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards in all shut down maintenance operations.
  • Coordinate task dependencies and ensure seamless integration of maintenance activities with other shutdown operations.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders & teams to ensure smooth shutdown operations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Trade Certificate – Advantageous but not required.
  • Proven experience working as Shutdown Planner within the Fixed Plant environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Solid understanding of the technical aspects of maintenance and shutdown procedures.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

About Onslow Iron Project

Our Onslow Iron project is set to redefine mining in Western Australia through world-first autonomous road trains, industry leading dust free transport and innovative transhipping.

Taking shape 150 kilometres east of Onslow, the project will ship around 35 million tonnes of iron ore per year and is expected to have a mine life of more than 30 years.

The project encompasses the Ken’s Bore mine (approximately 150km from Onslow), Truck Maintenance Facility and Onslow Port infrastructure.  

Onslow Iron will redefine mining with its world-first autonomous road trains, industry leading dust free transport and resort-style accommodation for a workforce of around 800 people.
