The Opportunity

The Marine Electrical Supervisor at Mineral Resources is to safeguard the integrity and functionality of electrical systems on our marine vessels, there by supporting the seamless execution of our marine operations. The incumbent will play a crucial role in supervising maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting electrical systems essential for propulsion, power generation, navigation, communication, and material handling systems while adhering to stringent safety and environmental standards.

This role will be based at Onslow Coastal on a 14 days on / 14 days off roster.

Key Responsibilities;

• Supervise Installation, repair and fault finding of Electrical, instrumentation and communication systems.
• Plan and scope electrical installations for shutdown periods.
• Review and update operational and maintenance check sheets, work instructions, procedures, and other controlled documents that are relevant to the safe and efficient operation on MinRes Marine assets.
• Supervise contractors and provide guidance on electrical safety and regulations.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance, breakdowns and statutory testing.
• Coordinate electrical teams to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime of marine assets.

About you;

• WA Electrical License; ETO CoC III/6 and Cert IV in Electrical Instrumentation (both desirable)
• Certified in Working at Heights, Confined Space, CPR, and LVR; holds MSIC
•  Extensive experience as an electrician in a supervisory role within Marine or Mining industries
• Advanced knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, automation systems, and electrical instrumentation (calibration & maintenance)
• Hands-on experience with marine propulsion, power generation/management systems, UPS, and battery systems
