The Opportunity

The Scrum Master plays a dual role in leading agile delivery and providing expert business analysis to enable successful project and product outcomes. You will play an integral role leading high-performing Scrum teams, remove impediments to delivery, and cultivate agile best practices, while also engaging with stakeholders to elicit and document business requirements, analyse systems and processes, and ensure that solutions meet business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (e.g., daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives).
  • Act as a servant leader to the Scrum team, fostering a collaborative, transparent, and self-organising environment.
  • Identify and remove obstacles to the team’s progress, escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Champion agile principles and continuous improvement, coaching team members and stakeholders on agile adoption.
  • Engage with stakeholders and users to elicit, understand, and document business requirements, translating these into technical specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Analyse existing business processes, systems, and information flows, and recommend improvements aligned with project objectives.
  • Support the prioritisation and refinement of product backlogs, ensuring alignment with business value and strategic goals.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with project sponsors, business owners, subject matter experts, and delivery teams.
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and meetings to gather insights, encourage collaboration, and ensure shared understanding.
  • Maintain high-quality documentation that provides clear traceability through the delivery lifecycle.
  • Track and report team delivery metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement in both process and outcomes.

What is Required

  • Qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Information Systems or a related field.
  • Relevant industry certifications (eg, Certified Scrum Master, Certified Business Analysis Professional)
  • Understanding of site-based operations and safety compliance requirements.
  • Extensive experience in software delivery roles, with at least 2-3 years in specific Scrum Master roles
  • Experience as a Scrum Master, leading agile teams, with a proven track record of facilitating agile ceremonies and using Scrum or similar frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to elicit, analyse, and document complex business requirements and processes, and manage the end-to-end SDLC
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and facilitation skills across a range of business and technical teams.
