About the role

Reporting to the Mining Superintendent, this role will be responsible for providing high quality guidance and leadership to the mining teams, through mentoring, coaching and for ensuring a safe work environment. This role will be an 2/1 FIFO roster to Weipa Project from Brisbane or Cairns.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Organising and scheduling the mining crew to meet daily production targets
  • Management of production and mechanical break-down issues
  • Accountability for providing comprehensive reporting to the management team on production achievements, challenges and issues
  • Providing effective guidance, coaching and mentoring to site personnel
  • Maintaining and fostering a working environment which prompts safety in all that we do, whilst also providing outstanding service
  • Development of working relationships with key stakeholders on site
  • Work closely with maintenance to minimise downtime and ensure fast turnaround on breakdowns
  • Directly monitor fleet productivity in real time, taking immediate corrective action when output drops below plan targets
  • Aggressively identify and remove bottlenecks in haulage, loading, and dumping operations to maximise operating time

 

What you will bring to the team

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working within a Mining and Production Environment
  • Previous experience working in mining and working towards production targets
  • Previous experience successfully leading a team
  • Demonstrated strong problem solving, lateral thinking and analytical skills
  • Excellent time management and daily routine rituals
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal with an ability to import knowledge, coach and mentor others
