The opportunity

Heritage Advisor Approvals is responsible for supporting MinRes’s heritage approvals activities to ensure continuity of operating mines, and achieve greenfield development project schedules in accordance with regulatory and agreement requirements.

You will play an integral role supporting with the planning of heritage surveys and heritage management activity and developing and maintaining strong and mutually respectful relationships with Traditional Owners to facilitate this work. 

For this position you report directly Principal Heritage Advisor and is a 12-month fixed contract term.

Your primary responsibilities:

  • Provides support and attends MinRes cultural heritage surveys and key Traditional Owner meetings
  • Support the heritage team to review and update governance documents and systems, and assist with any legislative and regulatory transitions.
  • Support the scheduling, scoping, delivery and reporting of Traditional Owner consultation
  • Assist to plan and draft heritage approval documentation
  • Assist to review and implement and audit Land Activity Permits and their heritage conditions.
  • Assist to coordinate cultural heritage protection and management activities associated with ground disturbance, including Traditional Owner participation.

What is required?

  • Demonstrated experience in a heritage related role or similar in the field and / or corporate within mining industry.
  • Experience with relevant WA and Commonwealth cultural heritage legislation and regulatory requirements highly desirable
  • ​Excellent attention to detail and ability to deliver results while working on multiple tasks with tight timeframes.  
  • ​Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work positively and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including in a cross-cultural context.  
  • Sound experience with ArcGIS software skills is preferred
