The Opportunity

You will report to the Manager PCS Projects on an 8:6 roster as an integral part of our Project Control Systems team. This role is a dynamic and varied role where you'll have the opportunity to work on multiple sites and projects, gaining diverse experiences and fostering professional growth.

Your focus will be on developing, installing, commissioning, maintaining and management of the equipment which is used to monitor and control the Ore Processing Facilities under the control of CSI Mining.

This role is initially based on a 6 month fixed-term contact.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining effectiveness of process controls including PLC, HMI, Historian and alarm systems
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving, providing advice and consultancy support to sites.
  • Evaluate equipment and processes to identify ways to optimise performance.
  • Testing, maintaining, and modifying existing systems.
  • Analysing data and presenting findings in written reports.
  • Assist with purchasing of materials for projects by assessing quantities and completing purchase orders.
  • Identify opportunities to improve plant performance through new use of process control technologies.
  • Develop and maintain Safe Work Procedures for the control systems and associated equipment maintenance.
  • Assist in the organisation, planning, preparation and execution of plant shutdowns and start-ups where required.
  • Assist in the organisation reporting systems and commissioning of new systems where required where required.
  • Deliver training and up skilling to site electrical personnel in areas of troubleshooting and basic maintenance of the control systems.

What is Required?

Our ideal candidate will have previous demonstrated experience in a Control Systems Engineer role within dry and wet fixed processing plant environment.  Strong knowledge required in:

  • GE Cimplicity, Emerson RX3i PLC and HMI systems experience.
  • Drive and instrumentation hardware.
  • Network communications and associated systems.
  • Experience with stacker reclaimer and ship loaders is highly desirable.

Other key skills, experience, and qualifications:

  • A tertiary degree in Electrical or Control Engineering, or a relevant trade qualification.
